CreativeMindS United: The Great Indoor Awards 2009

Tokujin Yoshioka (work seen below) may know how to make a consumer/memeber of the general public stop in their tracks outside a store window, but these interior designers certainly know how to take your breath away once you step inside.

'Giving recognition to the best interior design worldwide, The Great Indoors Awards is an international, biennial, interior design award. The total amount of prize money is €30,000.'1

"The Great Indoors Award is intended to provide the interior designer with a platform of some stature, as well as to prompt debate and disburse information on interior design. The aim is to reward work of excellence and, at the same time, to show this work to the world. We hope to motivate and convince potential clients from both the private and the public sectors. Above all else, we want The Great Indoors to give the profession of interior design the status and position it deserves. An unambiguous name would be nice, too. "1
-Guus Beumer, Director of Marres, Centre for Contemporary Culture, Maastricht and Director of NAiM/ Bureau Europa
& Robert Thiemann, Editor in chief of Frame magazine
