One Love

I believe you should always take the opportunity to collaborate.
Although I primary work solo, I fell I've learned the most from collaborating with friends/fellow creative minds who work with a different set of tools.
To me, collaboration always results is a win-win situation.

Art directors Will Hudson and Alex Bec created the lovely If You Could Collaborate project.
Check it outtt.
"If You Could Collaborate is the fourth annual If You Could exhibition. Aiming to provide a platform for the finest creatives from all over the world to question their conventional working methods and outcomes. The contributors have been challenged to produce something a little unexpected, by working with a partner of their choosing from any discipline, profession or background. There is no brief to answer, or format to honour – the only limit being the enterprise and imagination of the artists involved, and a liberal 12 month deadline. Below are all of the pairings, and their outcomes."

I came across If You Could Collaborate when hunting for news and info about my idol Deanne Cheuk
Because she does it all, she is who I want to be.

the best way to start any day

If orange juice and coffee doesn't quite get your heart gowin in the mornin, maybe these videos will.
To me, digital art/media is another fundamental force that creates, captures and expresses what design magazines, artwork, still photography and reality can not.
The collaboration between creative minds in music and art videos are among my favorite forms of digital art/ media. The more creative minds..the merrier.

Because there are too many extraordinary videos that keep coming my way to include in one post, I've decided to keep them stashed on Vimeo.
Theses artists/visionaries/musicians (creative minds) are outta sight.

These are my new favs

Dear Lucy McLauchlan (artist below) you don't know me, but we are good friends.

I love window displays x installations

I love companies that pride themselves on their larger than life and innovative window displays.
I especially love it when companies collaborate with note worthy artists to bring attention to both the artist and the store/merchandise. Apparently, Maison Hermes feels the same. Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka's new installation for Maison Hermes is one for the books. It's based off a previous window display he presented in 2004. The display can be seen until January 19th 2010.

“On designing a window-display of Maison Hermès, I intended to express people’s daily ‘movements’ with a suspicion of humor. There are moments when I perceive a hidden presence of a person in the movements born naturally in daily life. I created a design where one can perceive someone behind the scarves as if life were being breathed into them. The window is designed with an image of woman projected onto a monitor. The scarf softly sways in the air in response to the woman’s blow.” – TY

Window displays are meant to draw the consumer into the store to shop shop shop and spend spend spend. But with a display this cool, I think they'll find customers prefer to watch the installation over browsing the $$$$$ merchandise.
I love collaborations and this one is outta sight.
